Hi,
I've spent a while looking for a new portable audio player. Yes, I do have a phone. Yes, it can play music. But I would like to have a really good audiophile portable player from a real hifi company like Denon, McIntosh, Luxman, Accuphase, Yamaha... whatever. No phone. No touch screens. No video functions. Just pure audio bliss with proper hifi design.
So far I have found only two that fit the bill: Hifiman and Colorfly. There are two from Hifiman and one from Colorfly. None of them appeals to me 100% though.
Is this really all there is? Isn't it strange that not one of the usual hifi companies have a portable player? I guess there is no market for it. But wouldn't some audiophiles be tempted to buy a portable player from McIntosh with their usual design, perhaps showing blue VU-meters while the songs are playing? I for sure would!
